If you have any suggestions or comments about how we can improve this online conference, or what we could do better in the future, please use the comment function at the foot of this page to tell us your ideas.

We would be very interested in hearing your thoughts espeically as this is our first attempt at an online conference.  We very much hope you enjoy the experience but we also hope to be able to improve our service for next time.

  • How did you find the presentation of material on the website?
  • Can you think of any new features which would be nice to linclude next time?
  • Was the website and content easy to follow?
  • Do you like the idea of a virtual conference?  What are its advantages and disadvantages?
  • Is there any new technologythat we should be looking at?
  • Anything else?

This is the IHR’s first attempt at an online conference so we are particularly interested in hearing your thoughts and improving the service for next time.

  1. Are there any plans to record the presentations for later playback, even if they are only made available for a short (few days) time period? This would allow people in highly variant timezones to participate. I would like to participate but am not sure I can get up everyday at 2 am to listen to the program.

    • Hello Paul,
Yes indeed, the lectures will be recorded from the week before the virtual conference begins and will be made available as pre-recorded podcasts throughout the week (21-25 November). If you look at the conference programme on the left side menu you will see when these will be made available.

Hope that helps and thanks for your interest!

  2. A small point, but I know from blogging myself that although white text on black backgroudn looks very smart, many readers find it very hard to read, compared to the other way round.

  3. Is it possible to get a printed copy of a lecture? I was trying to get a printed copy of the lecture of Elizabeth Chadwick. Altho it says one can get a printed copy, the print-out doesn’t include the whole lecture, only about one page worth. The podcasts are nice, but sometimes it is hard to understand what the speaker is saying. I am an American and basically English, but I sometimes have a bit of difficulty making out what an native English speaker is saying. I hope that makes sense.

      • I’m afraid we are unable to provide printed copies of the lectures but we do take your point. The main reason why we have not included text copies is because many of the speakers wish to reuse their talks for other occasions or publish a version of them as an article.

Unfortunately on the day it was not always possible to place the microphone as close to the speaker as we would have liked so some of the lectures are a little on the quiet side.

Thanks for the suggestions though. We will see what we can do for future events.
